About the Trainer

Carol Donohue-Bernstein, of Canine Harmony LLC, is a Certified Master Dog Trainer. She attended and completed the training program at Anthony Jernone's School of Dog Training, the only certified dog training school in New York.  The curriculum included rigorous classroom teaching as well as hands on training in a variety of settings that included training dogs at a doggie daycare and a pitbull shelter in Queens as well as private one on one sessions.  Carol continuously strives to learn through ongoing research and personal experience.

She is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) as well as a volunteer for The League For Animal Protection of Huntington (LAP) and The East Northport Chamber of Commerce.

Carol has always loved animals, especially dogs and considers the ability to connect with them a gift.  She got her first dog at the age of three and has lived with one or more dogs ever since, including her current best friend Max (a Boxer, Lab & American Bull mix)!

She will teach you what you need to know to connect with your dog and help you apply what you are learning throughout the training process.  Her motto is: "There are no bad dogs...just dogs and owners that haven't been trained yet!"  She is passionate about helping dogs and their "people" live in harmony!

On a more personal note, Carol grew up in Northport and currently resides in East Northport with her husband and two teenagers.  After graduating from Northport High School, she attended Hofstra University where she earned her BBA in Finance with a minor in mathematics.  She became a NYS Generally Certified Real Estate Appraiser.  While she enjoyed appraising, it wasn’t her true passion!  She is so grateful to be able to follow her heart and a four-legged friend with a happily wagging tail!
